Uganda Project
In the summer term of 2014 Miss Jones went on a secondment to Uganda. She enjoyed working in a school out there, learnt many different things but found that the children and teachers had limited resources. Despite this they are keen to embrace education and develop their full potential, no matter how challenging the circumstances are. Miss Jones has shared her experiences of this visit and communicated through email with the children at Harby whilst she was there. We are keen to maintain the link that we have with this school in Uganda as we feel it will give children an opportunity to explore the world beyond their own country, particularly as it is with children their own age so they can relate to this. As part of this project the School Council were given a budget and asked to consider what items the children in the Ugandan school would benefit from and how they could help. The money was partially raised from 'Tea at 3' an event run by the Friends of Harby C of E Primary School following our annual sports afternoon and we are grateful for the parents support. The School Council met with Miss Jones and Mrs. Bennett to discuss and make a plan.
