Harby C of E School Council 2022

Pupil representatives

At Harby C of E Primary School we very much value the input of all pupils.  We pride ourselves on listening and responding to pupils' views and feelings and the School Council is one way in which we can give pupils a voice.  The School Council consists of 10 children, 2 children from each year group - from Reception up to year 6.  School Councillors are democratically elected by each class after they put themselves forward for the role, outlining why they would be a good pupil representative.  Once elected, they are given a special badge to wear so that they are easily recognisable.  They have regular meetings and help to support projects in school.

Previous projects have included:
  • Decorating the boys toilet area, engaging the boys across the school to choose the colour scheme.
  • Raising money and awareness to support the protection of Orangutans and their habitats
  • Raising money for SCOPE and implementing a Mindfulness week throughout the school
  • Raising awareness of and engagement with Odd Socks Day (anti-bullying project)
