Curriculum
The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum, with the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes that are relevant and meaningful to the needs of today and tomorrow's society. The curriculum relates to the development of the whole child and there is a strong belief in providing a wide range of experiences across the curriculum.
Activities are purposeful, stimulating, and wherever possible, learning is through first hand experiences. Where appropriate, subjects are taught through topics. Throughout the school curriculum, areas are revisited, building on skills and knowledge acquired and giving continuity and progression to the children's work. A variety of teaching styles and forms of pupil organisation are employed, as we recognize the benefit of different approaches in achieving effective learning.

Class Organisation and Specific Curriculum Responsibilities
The children are organised in four classes, each with their own Class Teacher.
Reception and Y1 - Mrs Lewis
Year 2 - Mrs Marsden and Mrs Trimmer
Year 3 and 4 - Mrs Hodder and Mrs Mills
Year 5 and 6 - Mrs Ford and Mrs Grevatte
There may be a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in a classroom to support pupils with Special Educational Needs. Class teachers differentiate activities to match the ability, age, experiences, skills and knowledge of the pupils. Each member of teaching staff has specific responsibility for various subject areas and helps to lead and drive improvement in their subject. By following the latest research and opportunities for CPD, staff stay up to date with new initiatives, policy and practice and ensure that this is shared with all staff.
