Parents
At Harby C of E Primary School we fully recognise and value the importance of the relationships that we have with parents. A child's first teacher is their parent and by working in partnership we can ensure that we support pupils as fully as possible on their learning journey.
We welcome parents into school and have an 'open door policy.' Staff are available to talk briefly to parents at the beginning and end of the school day to enable important information to be passed on, ensuring that the day runs as smoothly as possible for each child. A weekly 'Link Letter' helps to keep parents informed about what has been happening throughout the week in school and also reminds parents of upcoming events. There are two formal Parents' Evening sessions - in the Autumn and Spring Terms. This enables parents to have an individual discussion with their child's teacher and share in their child's successes and targets for continued improvement. An annual report is written for each child towards the end of the Summer Term and parents have the opportunity to discuss this with their child's teacher should they wish to do so.
Each year every class performs an assembly that parents are invited to. This gives parents the opportunity to come into school and see what their children have been learning about in a different way. Parents are also warmly welcomed to sports day, pancake races and other fun events held at school during the course of the year. Both parents and the wider village community enjoy sharing our Remembrance Day Service, Christmas and Easter services which all pupils participate in.
We welcome parents into school to help within classes - such as with craft, baking and reading. Should you wish to support in school please contact the Headteacher.

Friends of Harby School
The Friends of Harby School are a group of parents who work together to raise funds and organise activities for the pupils. They meet regularly throughout the year and all parents are welcome to attend the meetings which are publicised in our weekly Link Letter. The funds raised by the Friends of Harby School support educational activities throughout the year. Our major fundraiser is the Belvoir Challenge which takes place in Spring each year. This has been running since 1990 and is highly successful 26 or 15 mile walk / run across the stunning countryside in the Vale of Belvoir.
